A Mother's Love Fundraiser in Memory of Nathan Sheffield Gay
Nathan Sheffield Gay, beloved DreamTree team member, had his life tragically cut short at age 32 on October 12, 2023. His mother was given a beautiful antique cross stitch sampler, A Mother’s Love by Ann Pearce, to be reproduced in his memory.
Nathan's family has generously dedicated 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser to DreamTree Project, a place he loved dearly in his adopted state of New Mexico. Nathan loved the people and the work of DreamTree Project, and made countless indelible contributions to our programs and upon our hearts. This project is dedicated in memory of Nathan.

We do not have much information about Ann Pearce, nor the timeframe in which she probably stitched this piece. But, what we do have is a story about a young man who loved life, loved his family and friends, and even loved his mother’s stitching!
Nathan Sheffield Gay is survived by his loving parents, Dee and Melissa Gay, of Hendersonville, Tennessee. For the last eight years of Nathan's life, he lived in both Colorado and New Mexico, working in various jobs, including programs for youth in crisis at DreamTree Project and programs for homeless adults at Española Pathways. Making music, writing, and dance were his passions, and he dug into them with his whole being. Through his compassion and generosity, Nathan spread joy and light throughout his community. Nathan truly never met a stranger, and aimed to help every person whose path he crossed.
